Year of the finished project for June

June has not been a stellar month sewing wise.  The weather has been stupendous.  The garden is growing profusely.  We have had company galore.  The boats have been launched and used.  Life is busy.  I have been working 2.5 days a week.

1. Six inch quilt block swap Done  Two blocks and a little sample of a postage stamp block for my partner.

I’ve decided to take a break from this swap for a while, even though I love making this little blocks.

2. Bee Balm block swap The instructions and fabric only arrived last week and I barrelled into getting the block done and MADE A MISTAKE, cutting into the fabric I was sent.  After looking for a week I’ve found a replacement – not the same but as close as I’m gonna get.  I still have to make the block.

***** Finish Easy Street!  Or try to any way.  I have 16 square blocks to make and 10 triangle blocks.  And borders and quilting.  Yikes!  Oh well, I will try..  But I wasn’t too successful.  Only four blocks done…

**** Finish the table mat I started for the Stitch Me Up blog hop. NOT DONE

*** Work on the X and + quilt .  I’m going to try for ten more blocks again this month.   NOT DONE

** Continue making leader/ender postage stamp blocks. These are coming along!!

* Make the prototype dress for DGD’s doll.  I need to decide if this dress is the right one for my GDs for the wedding in September…. DD#2’s wedding… NOT DONE

JULY LIST

I am probably setting myself up for failure but I have to get this sewing done sometime!!

1. Bee Balm block swap – No word yet on the instructions for July, but I am getting June’s block in the mail tomorrow.

2. Block swap adventure – 1 - 12.5 in block – mail by the 25th.  Carol wants any block and she likes purples.  I’m looking for a fun block pattern.

3. Inchy hexagon swap – 2 hexies per month – mail by July 31st.  Lori wants “different fabrics”.  Should be fun finding the right ones.

4. Simply Solids block swap – Mail by July 26th – Annie wants a spider web block.  I’ve wanted to make one of these for ages! 

5. Get your Hex On bee – mail by July 31st.  Stacey wants grouped hexies of different sizes on a grey background.  Fun!  I’m waiting for my package to arrive.

6. Charm Pack Table Runner for Terry. I have a plan and the fabric and pattern.  This will hopefully be done this week.

7. A birthday star block for Quilt Diva Julie.

8. A postcard for my partner in Sheila's postcard swap.  Due by July 31st.

9. Some kind of homemade goodie for my secret partner in the It's a Sister Thing Swap.  I have until the end of August to finish this one, but I’ll be thinking about it and hopefully making something sooner.

As well I am going to:  

***** Finish Easy Street!  Darn it!  I am going to finish it this month.  Because August and September are too busy for me to try and do it then. 

**** Finish the table mat I started for the Stitch Me Up blog hop.  This one would probably take a day to finish.  I need to get it done!!

*** Work on the X and + quilt .  I’m going to try for ten more blocks again this month.  

** Continue making leader/ender postage stamp blocks.

* Make the prototype dress for DGD’s doll.  I need to decide if this dress is the right one for my GDs for the wedding in September…. DD#2’s wedding… And okay this one now has top priority!  Because I’ll have to make the dresses for the girls next!

*** Finish the table mat I started for the Stitch Me Up blog hop.  Not Done. 

**** Work on the X and + quilt .  My goal for this month is ten more blocks. Only two blocks done. 

***** Work on the new project that I started….A postage stamp quilt made with 2.5 inch squares.  It is my new leader and ender project.  Almost finished two blocks.  This is going together quickly as a leader and ender.

****** Make a dress for DGD’s doll.  Not Done.   

Some things aren’t done.  But I did some other things so I don’t mind… Like flags for the To Boston with Love project.

And here is my list for June:

1. Six inch quilt block swap – 2 per month – to be mailed by the 15th.  Dawnelle wants any block in southwest shades.

2. Bee Balm block swap – The instructions are apparently on their way in the mail.

3. Block swap adventure – 1 - 12.5 in block – mail by the 25th.  Cyndi wants a star block in brights, funky or modern on white.

4. Inchy hexagon swap – 2 hexies per month – mail by April 30th.  Karyli wants yellow petals and black centres.

5. MMM Round Robin – mail by April 30th.  This is the last month for this round robin.  I haven’t received the block to work on yet.

6. Simply Solids block swap – Mail by April 26th – Anne Marie wants a complex Katherine Wheel.  I’m going to have to concentrate to make this one. 

7. Get your Hex On bee – mail by April 30th.  Elita wants a simple 1.5 inch hexie flower and has sent gorgeous fabric for it.  I’m half done already.

8. Charm Pack Table Runner for Terry. I am embarrassed that this isn’t done and it is TOP of the priority list.

9. A birthday star block for Quilt Diva Julie.

The Year of the Finished Project for April - EDITED–I just realized this should be for MAY!!!

Here is my progress for April.

1. Six inch quilt block swap – 2 per month – Done!!

2. Bee Balm block swap – Done!!

3. Block swap adventure – 1 - 12.5 in block – mail by the 25th. Done!!  I was late with this one but got it done before the end of the month.

4. Inchy hexagon swap – 2 hexies per month  Done!!

5. MMM Round Robin – mail by April 30th.  Done!!  Here is a sneak peek.

6. Simply Solids block swap – Done!! 

7. Mystery Muse – finish the second item, which is about half done. Not Done…. in fact no progress at all on this. 

8. Get your Hex On bee – mail by April 30th.  Done!!

9. Charm Pack Table Runner – mail by April 30th - for Terry. Not done.  But Terry is understanding….

* Finish the baby quilt!  Done!!  I finished it at the retreat but I have decided I want to do a little bit more quilting on it.  I will show it once it is really done  

** Put together FIVE blocks for Easy Street! Done!! I only did four, but I’m happy with that! 

*** Finish the table mat I started for the Stitch Me Up blog hop.  It is a gift.  I need to get it mailed.  Not done….    and now it is late enough that it doesn’t matter.

**** Work on the new X and + quilt that I started cutting out blocks for. Done!!  I finished ten blocks at the retreat, but nothing more since then.

1. Six inch quilt block swap – 2 per month – to be mailed by the 15th.  Michell wants any block in blue and white.

2. Bee Balm block swap – No instructions on this one yet.

3. Block swap adventure – 1 - 12.5 in block – mail by the 25th.  Agnes wants a traditional block in creams, brown, red, gold, green.

4. Inchy hexagon swap – 2 hexies per month – mail by April 30th.  Kathryn wants bright cheerful colours.  This I can do!

5. MMM Round Robin – mail by April 30th.  I haven’t received my block to work on yet.

6. Simply Solids block swap – Mail by April 26th – Shena wants an Alberta Triangle block.  Looks like fun. 

7. Mystery Muse – finish the second item, which is about half done.  This has top priority!!

8. Get your Hex On bee – mail by April 30th.  Yvette wants a hexie flower or two for her Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt.  I have one set of hexies all cut.

9. Charm Pack Table Runner for Terry. This one has to be high on the priority list too.

10.  It’s for the Birds…. I am participating in this blog hop which starts tomorrow.  My day is the 15th.  I have something to show but I would like to make something else.  Like finish my cardinal….

As well I am going to:  

* Finish the baby quilt!  Like get the little bit of quilting I decided to add done…

** Put together FIVE blocks for Easy Street!  Yes five blocks is my goal for this month. 

*** Finish the table mat I started for the Stitch Me Up blog hop.  It is a gift.  I need to get it mailed.  This one also has high priority!

**** Work on the X and + quilt .  My goal for this month is ten more blocks.  A modest goal.

***** Work on the new project that I started…. A postage stamp quilt made with 2.5 inch squares.  It is my new leader and ender project.  I almost have one block of 100 squares finished already!

****** Make a dress for DGD’s doll.  This is to try out the pattern that I won from Lilac Lane.  If it works out well, I will make the same dress for my two GDs. 

That is all.  I would say that is enough!!

The Year of the Finished Project–March update

I think I will have to rename this to the Year of the Unfinished Project.  I have a pitiful report to make this month.  I did get most of my swap items done.

1. 6  inch quilt block swap Done and blogged about on Feb 17th.

2. Bee Balm block swap   Also done and blogged about on Feb 17th

3. Block swap adventure Third one done and blogged about on Feb 17th.  I was on a bit of a roll!

4. Inchy hexagon swap – Finished them on Feb 28th and mailed them on the 29th.  Oh yeah – this isn’t a leap year…. Mailed them on March 1st

5. MMM Round Robin Got that first round done and showed my sneak peek on my Feb 24th FNSI post.

6. Simply Solids block swap This one was completed on FNSI as well and blogged about on Feb 24th.

7. Mystery Muse – two items – don’t have to be sewn, can be any genre – by the end of February reflecting the prompt “excitement” Neither of these are completed.  One is about 1/3 done; the other is a really great idea still residing in my head.

And I cavalierly said “As well I am going to:

Get my cardinal done

Finish the baby quilt

And dare I say that I will get at least the different pieces for Easy Street cut and pieced…”

Ha!  Not done, not done, not done.

What have I been up to this month?  Enjoying the weather… and the sun and the snow…

This morning 7 a.m…

For March I’m going to buckle down.  My March list…

1. Six inch quilt block swap – 2 per month – to be mailed by the 15th – oh and I have two partners this month so I have to make four blocks.

2. Bee Balm block swap –  I’m making a Scrappy Trip Along Block for this month

3. Block swap adventure – 1 - 12.5 in block – mail by the 25th  My partner this month asked me if I’d like to swap two blocks…. and she was my partner in the 6 inch swap back in November and the blocks I made never reached her.  So I might be making four blocks for her this month.

4. Inchy hexagon swap – 2 hexies per month – my request for this month is black and white petals and a red centre.

5. MMM Round Robin – I haven’t received my block to work on yet… hope it arrives soon.

6. Simply Solids block swap – I’m making a Scrappy Trip Along Block for this swap as well.

7. Mystery Muse – two items – Bad me.  I have to get these done this weekend.

8. Get your Hex On bee Hey!  I’ve already got this one done and mailed.

And dare I say that I will get at least the different pieces for Easy Street cut and pieced…  This is becoming more crucial now as I am thinking I might give it as a wedding present for a wedding in July.

Oh and I mustn’t forget!!! I signed up for the Stitch Me Up blog hop March 20 – 29th.  Haven’t received my package of thread yet so I’m going to have to start stitching without it.  YIKES!!!
