Friday Night Sew In Report

As usual, I wasn’t as productive as I hoped to be, but I did accomplish something, so YAY!

I got one of the baby quilts sandwiched and ready for quilting.  I’m going to do straight line quilting on either side of the seams on this one.

But then I had blocks all laid out ready to sew by my sewing machine for one of the 2 inch postage stamp blocks, so I had to sew that up before I could start quilting.  Here are the two completed blocks auditioning on some dark purple.  I think I like this more than the one I tried them with before.

Any opinions?

  1. I like the fabric where the 2 blocks are side by side, it seems to show off the colours better. Lots of work with 2 inch squares. But such a good feeling when you get to lay them out like this. Cheers,Jean.

  4. another fabulous photo on your header, Janet! The baby quilt is wonderful. I just love scrappy quilts! And I like the darker fabric better too. I just started saving PS squares and joined a swap as a "newby" so was sent 4 packets of "starter patches" together with what I cut from my own and what my Sis gave me I am nearly ready to start sewing! (there is never an end to the UFO's we can create, right?) LOL

  5. I love the dark purple... also wanted to say I really stopped by this afternoon to get my fix of looking at your pictures of the moose... how cool was that... the only thing I get in my yard are snakes, tiny lizards, squirrels, more squirrels and of course, more squirrels... although we have a big hawk which comes visiting us...

  6. I prefer the darker blue-purple to the lighter red-purple.
