Canada’s mail service sucks. I often think we are a first world country with a third world mail service. Well maybe it isn’t that bad, but it definitely is not very fast. I’ve been waiting and waiting for some parcels – well the last two Fridays many of them have come. I think I’ll post my Goodie Swap beauties separately but here are the other riches that I’ve received.
From Karen some more vehicle pieces for my grandson’s quilt.
Patty sent me these lovely home dyed fat quarters. I think they were a thank you because I sent her novelty fabrics for the I Spy quilts she was making – but then there may have been a contest involved too. I can’t quite remember.
I was so fortunate to get in on some scraps that Flaming Nora was getting rid of. Nora (I suspect that isn’t her real name) works in the theatre or something akin to that and has lots of bits of exotic materials overwhelming her. I love the little bag I got and am dreaming up things to do with it.
I have received three of my October swap blocks and the month isn’t even over!
From Fiona, my Christmas block – such a beauty…
From Kathy, two Adventure blocks, because the darker one was a bit small. Both of them are gorgeous!
From Anette in Denmark, two lovely hexies….
And last, but not least, I won this great book from Kathy Mack at Pink Chalk Fabrics. It just arrived on Friday and I haven’t had a chance to peruse it yet, but doesn’t the cover look interesting!
Should I be embarrassed???
Janet
Hi Janet,
ReplyDeleteLook at you all blessed with such fun parcels and such! Soak it in, lady!!!
Regarding the postal service being so sloooow and embarrassing, that's why I actually dropped the Hexie Swap and haven't signed up for any other swaps. I got tired of mailing things and then being emailed by the recipient saying she hadn't yet received my package. It's enough of a time management crunch to keep up to the timelines of swaps, and it's super embarrassing to keep saying "yes, I really DID send it!"
Do you find international packages coming back to you for incorrect postage? I had a few, even though I took them to the post office to get weighed and to pay for the postage. ???
Can't wait to see what you make with the Quilt Retro book!
Kristin
Sounds like it was worth the wait! A lovely haul indeed.
ReplyDeleteGotta love the post....when it finally arrives!
ReplyDeletelots of loveliness!
There's nothing worse than waiting by your mailbox is there? But when it does deliver you can't wipe the smile off your face! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so spoilt!!... lots of fun in the making..
ReplyDeleteSorry your mail service is so slow but you did receive some lovies when it arrived.
ReplyDeleteWOW! That's quite a bounty! Glad the vehicle fabric squares I sent arrived, finally. And look at all your other goodies!! My, oh my!
