52 week photo challenge

The word for this (last) week is fan.  This is the fan in my greenhouse that blows the air around and keeps the plants from overheating.  Even though it isn’t that hot here it can get really hot in the greenhouse during the day – like 42 C.

I can tell it was hot this day as I had the window open.  You can see I have lots of weeds in my greenhouse.  They grow like crazy in the heat.  And I don’t mind them as long as they stay out of my plant beds.  Isn’t it cool how you can see the fan is going around.

  1. Great picture of your fan, what type of plants do you grow in your greenhouse, Janet? Do they grow all year round? Very interesting....

  2. Great idea to cool the glasshouse down, with our small one, I have a top vent, and a wide door, and we paint all the top windows with whitewash?? Not sure of its technical name, but it does stop a huge amount of heat coming in. So odd to think of you with heat, here at our place right now, 7.46 p.m. Friday evening, outside it is 1.8 Celsius and dropping every minute. Cheers, Jean.

  4. Great photo - I haven't seen a fan in a green house before but it makes sense to keep the temp down. What do you grown there Janet?

  5. That's a great idea. How long can you grow things in your greenhouse? We've thought about building one, it's on the (eventual) to do list....
